What was the highlight of Fernweh Photography Hostel

Totally recommended!

This is a very welcoming and friendly hostel, owned by a German-Colombian couple. The chill out areas are really nice, hammocks, beanbags, etc. The 9 bed dorm is huge and the beds comfy. It's really quiet through the night, but it get's noisy outside really early and you also hear every noise from the common area outside the door. But you will want to get up early anyways, it's a cool city, after all. The hostel is in the tourist district of the city buy I found it very interesting and you can walk anywhere downtown within 20 minutes or so, Monserrate, Botero, Museo de Oro, etc. They offer breakfast and snacks throughout the day, which all looked great, but were a little pricey in my opinion. The place is very clean and I can totally recommend you to stay here. I've been told to only stay in Bogota for a night if I had an early flight. I stayed for 4 days and would have happily made it a week, I think Bogota is super interesting and there is plenty to do. And this hostel is a good base to check it all out!

There are only two bathrooms for close to 20 people (when fully booked), which can get a bit tricky in the morning. But one of those bathrooms is really awesome!

A classy hostel for travellers who enjoy more of a chilled...

A classy hostel for travellers who enjoy more of a chilled stay. The staff are excellent, super nice and helpful. Lots of chill out area indoor and outdoor. Spacious room. Comfy bed. Nice warm shower. I felt safe the whole time in the area.

There's not a lot of people during my stay so there was no vibe at all. Not enough plugs in the room, wifi is terribly weak, breakfast and coffee is not included and is too expensive for what it is. The dorm bed itself is already a bit pricier than average in the area, with the extra 16K COP for the breakfast, it is really not worth it.

Beautiful,unique place with a wonderful staff and a excellent choice of homemade breakfast ,local snacks and freshed squeezed juices.If you are in Bogota you have to stay there.

Charming place with a lot potential but for some reason this place still has no vibe.

Some very unpractical solutions in place (like see through door to the dorm room with light and music from lobby area coming into the room all the time. Cold water under the shower. Hostel is located on the hill so it’s a bit tiring to walk up the hill all the time.

Fernweh Hostel is located in one of the most beautiful parts...

Fernweh Hostel is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the candelaria. You can reach everything you need by a little walk and there are lots of restaurants, Cafés and cultural highlights in the close surrounding. In my opinion the Hostel is one of the top beautiful Places to spend your nights and days in Bogota. The dorms are clean and there is a lot of Space. If it get‘s cold at Night, what might happen sometimes, you can even use the chimney in the Dorm! I tried it and it was fantastic. The staff is really really nice and they do everything to let you feel comfortable. There is a lot of Space to relax and it is a light and friendly Place. Sitting around the campfire in the evening and having a Chat is a Highlight. The Place is quiet,social and relaxed, so don‘t expect a Party Hostel. It‘s Not! The breakfast is delicious and you can order sandwiches and nachos or have a cocktail. An interesting Feature are the amazing Photographs made by Andy and the varied musical playlist that makes the atmosphere even more soulfull. I really loved to stay there and i will surely come back again :)

Super friendly staff, super atmosphere! One of the best hostels we had during our trip so far. A lot of places to chill and hang out. We had the double room on top with an amazing view over the city! The owners answered us every question, gave advice and made us feel like home from minute one

The staff were excellent, really knowledgable about things...

The staff were excellent, really knowledgable about things in the area and all had really good English! The location was perfect, very safe and close to the main square. Kitchen facilities and general social areas were all really nice and spacious. Lovely hot showers!

The dorm we were in had panes of glass missing from the windows and the shutters didn’t properly close which meant it was a bit chilly in the room and the street noise was pretty loud! The WiFi was also a bit intermittent but this seems to be a problem around Colombia!

The hammocks, the friendly staff, the tasty breakfast you can purchase for good value, the location and the comfy beds with really warm blankets (which you need at night!)

It would have been cool if a small breakfast had been included in the price.
